Funky Fairys Challenge 34 - Recycle

Happy Halloween

Here is a card I made using the Bat image from one of this weeks releases over at doodle dragon studio. Dustin has been busy doing some Holiday images and you can find lot's of fab Christmas ones here. Later today he will be releasing this weeks set which are 'Halloween'. I wanted to use bright colours for the image to make it pop. Also you will find yesterday's freebie here.

Christmas Greetings in July!

Well this is another of Dustin Pike's Christmas images and guess what? It is today's freebie so you can go and grab him and dress him up for the holiday season ;0) I decided to colour him red and yellow and at 1st I wasn't too sure about this combo but when I put the card together I think it looks quite funky! As you can see I have used my square, rectangle and oval nesties and I love them all! lol

I'm hooked & 2 Cuties

Well firstly you are probably wondering from the title what I am hooked on and you crafters know that when you try a new tool and you like it you need them all regardless? Well it's my birthday on Sunday and Ryan has been asking what I want thinking that it would be highly unlikely to be anything craft related because I already have everything. Anyway I decided I wanted to try for myself a set of nestabilities because I see so many cards that use them and I always think they look fab and seeing as though I already own a Cuttlebug that is hardly used I guessed it would get me to use this more. All I can say is that after trying my 1st set which was the scalloped circles I was hooked!!! So now I can say that I proudly own 9 new sets of nestabilities which are an early birthday present from Ryan and the boys.
Here are 2 cards I have made using them along with Dustin's images. The candy cane bear is this weeks freebie so pop over for this little guy and the adorable snowman (in my case snowlady) is from a release a few weeks back.

Spaceship & Feeling on top of the world

These 2 cards have both been made with images from today's releases over at doodle dragon studio
by the awesome Dustin Pike. The spaceship is originally a stamp to colour but i converted it into a cut file and cut it out on my Pazzle. If you have a Pazzle or Cricut and scal it is so easy to convert your stamps to cut files and it gives you another way to use them making them even more versatile.
The next card uses the planet image and I thought Tilda would sit on this perfectly. I made the circle sentiment in AI and the paper is from DCWV - All about Boys matstack.

Very good morning to you all, I was just going to say evening and realized its now 12.25am! lol
Just wanted to share these two cards I made using the new releases over at doodledragondesigns today.
Dustin designed some really fun images this week which includes sea creatures and backgrounds. For the 1st card I wanted to come out of my comfort zone and try using different colours and I thought I would go nautical and use the sweet little boat and the life buoy. I had the perfect paper which is from 'The English Paper Company' and when looking through my button collection I found the perfect one! I just love it when you have the right things at hand. The little star was actually a silver brad but I heat embossed it to turn it blue and was very impressed with the outcome. I did the sentiment on my PC using 'double rings' font from scrapnfonts. Ribbon is from my stash.
The second card was done totally in photoshop which is also a first for me. I have just purchased CS4 and a Wacom intuos drawing tablet which I am so excited about but also very daunted! The software seems fab but I have never even used photoshop before so I am a real beginner but really want to get into digital scrapbooking. I have never done a LO before and I have so many photos. Anyway I opened up the background image and coloured it digitally then opened up the sea creatures and resized them and digitally coloured these too. I was just curious to see how different it would look really and it was fun to do. I then used foam squares to pop and did my sentiment adding a brad and ribbon to complete. You scrub up well

Hi Guys,
I made this card last week with Dustin's latest releases over at doodledragon studio but with not feeling too good I didn't get chance to post much. Anyhow this fab dragon was so much fun to colour and I came up with 'You scrub up well' which I thought was appropriate for this image. You could even personalise it by adding Dad, hubby or brother etc...I used my cheapo crayola's and baby gel to colour him and the very fab and bright paper is from a new set at Funky Fairys called 'Dainty Dots' and you will be so spoilt for choice with the fab colours available in 90 different shades and 2 styles altogether 180 papers for only £2.50!!! I decided to give hand sewing a try (being too lazy to set up my new and unused sewing machine)....I used my new EK border punch and then with my pricking tool pierced through the card and then just followed this pattern - easy peezy! To finish off I added some glitter dust for the bubbles.

Dragon Chef and Ellie

The dragon chef on this card is from Dustin's new set he will be releasing today over at doodledragons. Again the images are so much fun and such great value for money. The background paper is from my new DCWV -Nana's Kitchen mat stack which I thought was perfect for the image. The Y is for Yummy is from one of Regina's sets at The Cutting Cafe' called A - Z is for...
The second card was a real quickie but I thought it turned out quite sweet. The Ellie is from last week's release over at doodledragons and the paper is 'Birthday' from Trimcraft.

Dustin Pike Freebie and Party Monkey

Here are 2 cards I have made with Dustin's images. The dog and bear one is a Wednesday freebie so hop over and grab it. I just coloured and attached the image to some DCWV cloud effect paper. The sentiment is from The Cutting Cafe' called 'A- Z is for'.
The monkey card is actually for my son's 11th Birthday on Sunday from is little brother Harvey. The party monkey is a new image from a set due to be released today with more fab images however poor Dustin's PC has crashed so he is trying to sort it out asap. You can view other images from the set by visiting the other DT members blogs which are listed on the right hand side and the middle picture shows the new complete set which you can still buy from Dustin's site here.
I managed after trial and error to turn the monkey into a cut file and this is why I love these images because if you have cutting machines then they become even more versatile.
I used fine glitter for the present and the little scalloped sentiment is from a set over at The Cutting Cafe' called 'All occasion circle sentiments'.

Wizard Photo Frame

Well as promised here is my second creation I have made using Dustin's new images he released on Thursday.
As soon as I knew I was working with this image I knew immediately what I wanted to use it for. I thought it would sit perfectly at the top of some photo frames I have. I re sized the image and printed it out twice so I could cut out the wizard and then used foam squares to make him pop. The paper behind the frame is from FunkyFairy's called 'Basic Stars' and is a free download which Shaz very kindly gives you and you can grab it from the FunkyFairy's Inspiration site . Just look down the right hand side about half way down and the free downloads are all together. You could even design a project and enter the FunkyFairy's Challenge on Wednesday and win a free download of your choice ;0)

Friendship Bear Bag

Well here is one of the new images that Dustin Pike has just released over on his site. His images are just so fab, versatile and fun.
I made this quick little bag by covering a packed lunch brown paper bag with an A5 piece of paper printed from a new set called 'Aqualicious' from FunkyFairy's and it really is so bright and tropical. Check out all the new set's Shaz has put in the shop they are all equally as gorgeous.....
I then printed this cute little bear of Dustin's and coloured him with my Crayola pencils and Zest it - no more headaches using the Sandsodor ;0) I then just added a clear sticker and flowers to embellish.
I will be back later wit another project using another image from the set.

I was just wanting to let you all know that Dustin Pike is going to be releasing a new set on ......Thursday and you are all in for such a treat. This set of images are just so fabulous and different. You can take a sneak peek over on his blog and I am so excited to part of his new Design team.

I am doing the happy dance.........

Hope you all have had a fab bank holiday. We have been out all weekend to various places and we have had a lovely time. Anyway this morning when I switched on my Mac I was reading through my comments on my last post when I noticed people congratulating me for getting on the DT. To be honest I was a little confused and then realised it must be something to do with Dustin Pike's DT call. I only found his wonderful site last week and noticed he was on the look out for a DT. Anyway I sent a project of mine and stressed I was miffed that I hadn't found his site any earlier. Well to my shock and surprise I went over to his site and realised I have been one of the lucky one's Dustin has chosen.............I am so thrilled and truly excited to be joining a wonderful artist and a fab team. If you haven't already seen Dustin's art please do take a look and you will not be disappointed. He does the most wonderful digi stamps and some fab boyish images which I think are super ;0)
If things aren't already exciting enough yesterday my lovely hubby got me a set of Derwent Coloursoft pencils and some Sansodor. I have only just really started using watercolours but really wanted to give the Sansodor technique a go, so if any of you talented people have any tips for me please do let me know. I also picked up some record cards from Staples which I read was good to stamp on.

Flying By To Wish You A Happy Birthday

Well I don't know about you guys but Ican never find any cute young images around for little boys and seeing as though I have 2 this often proves difficult when it comes to a special occasion for them. Anyway the other day when I was out and about surfing I came across the most fantastic blog which I am sure many of you have heard of before called Dustin Pike. Well all I can say is that this guy does some wowzer digi stamps the images are just fab and they are perfect for boys cards as well as girls. Anyway he also offers some freebies and this is one of them. I couldn't wait to colour him in. I was searching through my Funky Fairys papers and thought this one fitted the image perfectly. It is from a set called 'Boys & Girls' and you will certainly be spoilt for choice. I then browsed through The Cutting cafe' s files and decided I would use this fab pillow box with the frame window to match the card.
The sentiment is home made on my pc.
I am really pleased with the final look of this set.
